"Princess Iron Fan" was made way back in 1941, while Shanghai was under Japanese occupation during World War II. The animation was made by the Wan brothers, the very first Chinese animators. They had seen Walt Disney's "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" released a few years earlier, and aspired to create a similar masterpiece to honor their nation. "Princess Iron Fan" is the first animated feature film in China as well as in Asia, and the seventh animated feature film in the world.
