I've probably expressed my opinions on this in earlier posts, but I believe I've changed some opinions anyhow.
Fruits Basket, was a cute series. Granted. Was it an interesting idea? Yes. It was different than the old 'guy surrounded by girls' thing, and switched it. To a point. There were still female members of the zodiac and to me, bleh. That got in the way, but it was more realistic. (I love men ^<<^)
The things that make me smile in this Anime is the music, and the realizations (that are quick, mind you!) Because that's one thing I like about Tohru. She realizes her shortcomings quicker than usual female characters so the whole issue doesn't drag on in a retardant manner.
Yuki....Ah! *starry eyes* be still my beating heart, what a little sweetie! I adore Yuki. And Shigure, so adorable! Their personalities are wonderful to me, and so very well spoken and intelligent.
Kyo, UGH. Don't get me started. Period. I tense up so terribly when he comes on-screen. It just emanates this horrid hostility that even I (as violent as I am) get tired of. He screams and shouts when its not necessary; its just nerve-grating.

[spoiler]The fact that in the Manga Akito was a woman?! A damn woman?! TCH. How annoying! Not to mention it didn't FIT. Sure maybe the pre-menstrual #¤!%&, but even in the Manga, he/she was DRAWN Male. You can't just randomly decide that its gonna be female when you clearly draw a male chest with male attributes. I mean you CAN, but it makes no sense! I as an artist find that aesthetically aggravating![/spoiler]
And the females....suck. Sorry, they suck. Aggravating, emotionless, overemotional or just damn scary, these characters need work in some sort of mental facility. Kagura's the worst. I can ignore all the others, but that one....oh that one I just want to beat to death. ^<<^;

Fruits Basket is kind of a meh show so far. It panders to the girls way too much. It's really just some fluff, but it's praised like a groundbraking masterpeice. I have a problem with that. This is my second time watching the first few episodes, and I cans ee I was right the first time. So far it's pretty weak a 5 or 6 out of 10. Daichi may be a great director, but that won't make the show good if the original concept is crap. I have only seen the first few episodes Funimation has up on the official site (legally), but I doubt it gets better. If you want some good Daichi comedies, check out Kodacha, or Animation Runner Kuromi. Those are really good! If you want something that will leave an impact on you check out Now and Then, Here and There. Those anime series, put this one to shame, and they are all by the same man. He's good at what he does...
I don't understand fangirls sometimes. I mean I don't go around claiming the anime series that have lots of panty shots and fanservice aimed at guys as a masterpeice. It's just fluff, and I make sure people understand that (now it can still be good fluff, don't get me wrong  ) . Crazy fangirls on the other hand treat eye candy like it's a groundbraking, masterpeice that never will be reproduced. This is a very generic show that I might have enjoyed it more without the hype. I still plan on buying this is the price is right (waaaay down the road), and give it a third chance, maybe this time I'll get passed the first few episodes.

It's like a relentless onslaught! Generally, I thought it could have been executed much better as I have read that the manga is deeper, more serious and less wacky.
