Hmmmmm, I'm pretty sure I'll like Hell Girl more, as long as they don't screw up the second half like they did with Death Note, and don't have lame characters like Near and Mello.
I hear it's pretty much all good, no bad parts to it. This anime seems more up your alley, then Death Note, anyway. I think you should watch it. And just to warn you, just like in Death Note, they felt the need to add two characters, although I don't think it will ruin it for you. They add the Journalist and his daughter, who try and find out more about Hell Girl (his daughter sees her a lot or something...). Their names are Hajime Shibata and Tsugumi Shibata.

Ok, seriously this is a huge spoiler.
Ok, really don't like squealing fangirl all over the main characters...I mean what's wrong with minor characters? Anyway I love the ending because it's not happy. Now for the spoiling part I love Matt (Mello's partner) Matsuda (Helping solve Kira case) and Near. The person that didn't like the ghoulish things in the movie...that is the only reason Light died!!!!First I'll tell you the full story of how he got his note book.Ryuk, light's shinigami, dropped two deathnotes into the human world one of which was not his. one of them was Shidoh's, so when he went to get his book back he got the person with it. That person would be Mikami (Yay for him!!  ) Light's worshiper. Misa found hers on her own. Rem,(her shinigami) and her joined Light too. Even in I believe it was in book number 2 Ryuk said he was gonna get rid of light after all this was over which he did. (L died trying so we can at least say that he gave it his best!) So, I conclude that it's Light's fault that he died for getting involved in all this any ways but if he didn't there would be no story at all.

My thoughts in spoiler!
I'm sure Death note is one of the top favs in both the anime and manga industry in Japan. But I didn't really like it when L died... I loved L! He's totally awesome! and when Near and Mello came around... But I'm feeling better about Near ever since I watched the Live Action Movie: "L, Change the World"

I just saw it the other day, and it was so AWESOME!
The ending made me sad when L was saying good bye to Near...and when Maki was given back her stuffed animal...it made me even more sad when I thought about when he was going to die...

I mean yeah, it's sad but they never ever care about minor characters. That's probably why I don't like L as much as I like Matt, because they focus on L and Light the whole time. Does anyone else like Matt? I haven't met anyone who has.
