Yeah it's sad too, mostly people who like anime around here are considered nerds, weird, and emo. :/ And I'm not. It sucks, I wish I could flat out say that I love anime lol.

My father and sister bug me to no end about how I like anime. No one- I repeat- NO ONE at my school is into anime. I checked. It's so annoying, because when people see me drawing anime and then I write something in Japanese next to it, they're like "Are you chinese?" And I'm like "WTF?" because I do not look chinese or japanese at all. My hair is blonde, I have blue eyes, and very fair skin. But some people think I have some talent in drawing it, and they take a slight interest...enough to listen to what I have to say for a moment. My best friend isn't into anime, but she lets me talk about it a lot. She's nice. That's why she's my friend. But I kind of stick out, because no one has the same interests as me.

But it's okay, because that's why they invented the internet.

People in my school really don't know what it is. Some who sort-of know think its weird or think it's "cool and foreign". A few know all about anime and watch it. None of them make fun of people liking it. Mostly because of lack of knowledge about anime in my school. Another reason I guess is my school isn't made of complete jerks. The most anime stuff in my school is probally in my locker, and it's not a lot ^^;

There's actually a lot of people who like and watch anime in my school. We also have an anime club, where they watch an episode of a certain series every Friday. XD The Caucasians in my school prefer anime, while the Koreans enjoy manhwa. The Chinese/Taiwanese enjoy Japanese with Chinese subtitles, and I enjoy both [since I can read both].

So...we're pretty "anime friendly"?

I used to get so upset when people made fun of me for loving anime.

But, now, I honestly couldn't care less. =/ It just really doesn't bother me, anymore.

Besides, people usually pick on others 'cause they secretly envy 'em for being able to be themselves, and be proud of who they are and what they like. =P

seriously though, i hate people who aren't open minded and they make fun of it. yeah, like they could do a better job of it. and why do they make fun of it anyway, it's like one of the most popular things out there. and yeah i relaly like it and when and if people make fun of me, i make sure they learn their lessson and shut their mouths around me if they wanna talk smack about anime and manga XP
