The forum rules applies to veteran Zotters and by-passing Earthlings alike, leaving no doubt to what kind of behavior is required at all times in order to participate on Planet Zot. Failing to follow these important rules will result in warnings, stardust fees, and even in bans. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
1. All content must be within a PG-13 limit
Since Planet Zot does not operate with any age restriction, a significant portion of our daily visitors are of young age. For that reason Planet Zot strives at all times to provide a safe environment for cartoon enthusiasts of all ages. All users are therefore responsible to keep all their posts and contributions to Zot within a PG-13 limit. This include also the content in signatures and role-plays.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
2. No flaming, trolling, excessive swearing or use of offensive and/or vulgar language or content
This includes also harassment of users (both through the forum and PMs). Flaming (purposely behaving offensively towards an other member) and trolling (starting arguments with the only purpose of making people angry or upset) are strongly frowned upon and may result in an instant ban.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
3. Don't spam
Spam are unnecessary posts that does not contribute to a discussion in any way. They are typically made with the only purpose of earning stardust or increase post count. Examples of spam include single-word posts, posts consisting only of smileys, and repeatedly off-topic replies (i.e. by repeatedly posting about your cat in a topic discussing Disney cartoons). Spammers are usually punished with a stardust fee and in some cases with a permanent ban.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
4. No piracy/warez
Discussions related to where and how to get hold of piracy or in any way illegal material are not allowed on Zot. That includes, but is not restricted to, information regarding how and where to access copyrighted videos, music files, fan subs, cartoon episodes and movies for free. If you really like an animation support the creators by purchasing it legally and without getting us sued.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
5. No multiple accounts or user impersonations
Only one account per member and one member per account. Each member may only have one account at the forums and can not share it with anyone else. The impersonation of other users and especially staff members is not permitted (i.e. pretending to be a relative of a staff member).

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
6. No suicide threats
While discussions about suicide are permitted, topics stating that someone will commit suicide will be locked and left with a warning to contact a local AR or call 911. Suicide threats are serious matters that shouldn't be taken lightly nor in any way be left to amateurs on the internet. If you, or someone you know, are suicidal, contact professional help, not an internet discussion board about cartoons.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
7. No advertisement
The only place you can discuss about and/or advertise for other sites and commuinities is in your signature and in the Cool Sites board. Advertising through PMs is not allowed and will result in warnings, the removal of the PMing ability and in some cases in a permanent ban.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
8. No begging for stardust and/or items or trading between currencies
Do not beg for stardust and/or items on the forum or through PMs. The only place you can ask for items and/or stardust donations is in your signature and in the Items and Quests Avenue board. Everywhere else it will be locked and reported to a moderator. While PMing members to propose trading or selling of items is allowed, begging for items and/or stardust through PMs is not, and may result in the removal of the PMing ability. Please note that trading stardust and/or items for currencies from other forums or online games is not allowed. Users caught doing so will be permanently banned.

Why can't I log in?
Have you registered? Seriously, you must register in order to log in. Have you been banned from the board? (A message will be displayed if you have.) If so, you should contact the webmistress to find out why. If you have registered and are not banned and you still cannot log in then check and double-check your username and password. Usually this is the problem; if not, contact the board administrator.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Why do I need to register at all?
Registration will give you access to additional features not available to guest users such as posting, voting in polls, definable avatar images, private messaging, usergroup subscription, etc. It only takes a few minutes to register and it's completely free so it is recommended you do so.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Why do I get logged off automatically?
If you do not check the Log me in automatically box when you log in, the board will only keep you logged in for a preset time. This prevents misuse of your account by anyone else. To stay logged in, check the box during login. This is not recommended if you access the board from a shared computer, e.g. library, internet cafe, university cluster, etc.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
How do I prevent my username from appearing in the online user listings?
In your profile you will find an option Hide your online status; if you switch this on you'll only appear to board administrators or to yourself. You will be counted as a hidden user.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
I've lost my password!
Don't panic! While your password cannot be retrieved it can be reset. To do this go to the login page and click I've forgotten my password. Follow the instructions and you should be back online in no time.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
I registered but cannot log in!
First check that you are entering the correct username and password. If they are okay then one of two things may have happened: if COPPA support is enabled and you clicked the I am under 13 years old link while registering then you will have to follow the instructions you received. If this is not the case then maybe your account need activating. Some boards will require all new registrations be activated, either by yourself or by the administrator before you can log on. When you registered it would have told you whether activation was required. If you were sent an email then follow the instructions; if you did not receive the email then check that your email address is valid. One reason activation is used is to reduce the possibility of rogue users abusing the board anonymously. If you are sure the email address you used is valid then try contacting the board administrator.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
I registered in the past but cannot log in anymore!
The most likely reasons for this are: you entered an incorrect username or password (check the email you were sent when you first registered) or the administrator has deleted your account for some reason. If it is the latter case then perhaps you did not post anything? It is usual for boards to periodically remove users who have not posted anything so as to reduce the size of the database. Try registering again and get involved in discussions.

What is a davvie?
Instead of using traditional avatars this forum enables members to have an unique davvie of their own. It's a small character where you can use your stardust to buy different clothings and accessories for it in order to dress it like you want. Just like your personal virtual doll if you like.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Where can I get my own davvie?
If you are already a member of this forum just click on the davvie button in the banner to go to your davvie control panel menu. Here you'll see your little half-naked doll in their undies. New users will have to register before recieving a davvie. The service and registration is completely free and your email and personal information will of course not be abused or distributed in any way.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Poor guy, he's nude! Were can I find clothings?
Here's where all the fun begins! You can now start to personalize and dress your new character. The first three slots in the davvie menu shows the currently available styles for hair, eyes and mouth and some skintones. Just pick the ones you like from the drop-down menu. After this you'll need to earn some stardust, which you can spend for new clothes and accessories at the various stores in the Shopping District.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
This is so cool! How can I earn loads of stardust?
I suggest you take a look at the Stardust F.A.Q. in the Important Information and Announcements board, but the most common ways to earn quick stardust is to post and to play games in the arcade. Please keep in mind that spamming for stardust will get you banned.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Do you take commission for Dynamic Avatar Clothing?
Yes, I do, just send me a private message or use the contact form and I'm sure we will get to an agreement. I have made several custom item packs for various forums and I enjoy creating clothes. Just don't expect me to work for free, at least have the decency to offer some coding help, advertising or other kinds of help if you can't pay. All money earned on dynamic avatar clothing commissions goes to pay for the hosting expenses of this forum.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
What are donations?
With donations I mean real money I can use to pay this site's bills with.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Why should I help?
Worst scenario; this place must shut down. Fortunately things aren't that bad yet, but this place needs your help! Running a website is not cheap, each time a page in the planetzot.com dominion is opened an amount of bandwidth is consumed. I have paid for all the bandwidth my self with my personal savings so far, but the amount of visitors and forum users is increasing dramatically and I'm unfortunately forced to ask for your help.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Do I get anything for donating?

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Universal Zollers...?
Yes, donators will receive the amount they donated multiplied with 1000 in Universal Zollears (UZ). Universal Zollars are a special currency given only to donators, which can be spent in the exclusive Regalia store.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

I'm broke, can I help out in any other way?
That's very sweet of you to ask! Yes, clicking on the google text ads at the bottom of this forum does actually help, same thing goes for shopping at the sponsors AnimeNation. Posting around the forum and making other forum members happy is also a nice thing to do!

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
How do I change my settings?
All your settings (if you are registered) are stored in the database. To alter them click the Profile link (first button underneath the forum banner). This will allow you to change all your settings.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
The times are not correct!
The times are almost certainly correct; however, what you may be seeing are times displayed in a timezone different from the one you are in. If this is the case, you should change your profile setting for the timezone to match your particular area, e.g. London, Paris, New York, Sydney, etc. Please note that changing the timezone, like most settings, can only be done by registered users. So if you are not registered, this is a good time to do so.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
I changed the timezone and the time is still wrong!
If you are sure you have set the timezone correctly and the time is still different, the most likely answer is daylight savings time (or summer time as it is known in the UK and other places). The board is not designed to handle the changeovers between standard and daylight time so during summer months the time may be an hour different from the real local time.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

You can also buy a custom rank in the Shopping District (button underneath the forum banner) in the Shop 'Special Effects' if you like.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

If someone has already replied to the post, you will find a small piece of text output below the post when you return to the topic that lists the number of times you edited it. This will only appear if no one has replied; it also will not appear if moderators or administrators edit the post (they should leave a message saying what they altered and why). Please note that normal users cannot delete a post once someone has replied.

How do I create a poll?
Creating a poll is easy -- when you post a new topic (or edit the first post of a topic, if you have permission) you should see a Add Poll form below the main posting box. If you cannot see this then you probably do not have rights to create polls. You should enter a title for the poll and then at least two options -- to set an option type in the poll question and click the Add option button. You can also set a time limit for the poll, 0 being an infinite amount. There will be a limit to the number of options you can list, which is set by the board administrator

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
How do I edit or delete a poll?
As with posts, polls can only be edited by the original poster, a moderator, or board administrator. To edit a poll, click the first post in the topic, which always has the poll associated with it. If no one has cast a vote then users can delete the poll or edit any poll option. However, if people have already placed votes only moderators or administrators can edit or delete it; this is to prevent people rigging polls by changing options mid-way through a poll

What is BBCode?
BBCode is a special implementation of HTML. Whether you can use BBCode is determined by the administrator. You can also disable it on a per post basis from the posting form. BBCode itself is similar in style to HTML: tags are enclosed in square braces [ and ] rather than < and > and it offers greater control over what and how something is displayed. For more information on BBCode see the guide which can be accessed from the posting page.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

The full list of emoticons can be seen via the posting form. Try not to overuse smileys, though, as they can quickly render a post unreadable and a moderator may decide to edit them out or remove the post altogether.

If it is the latter case you should try asking the administrator why.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Whom do I contact about abusive and/or legal matters related to this board?
You should contact the administrator of this board, I go under the nick Schwpz. You can contact me by either sending me a private message through this board or mailing me at planetzot@gmail.com. It is absolutely pointless contacting phpBB Group in relation to any legal (cease and desist, liable, defamatory comment, etc.) matter not directly related to the phpbb.com website or the discrete software of phpBB itself. If you do email phpBB Group about any third party use of this software then you should expect a terse response or no response at all.
