10. "Phantom Showdown: The Thunder Brothers vs. Tetsusaiga"
While Inuyasha clashes with Hiten, Monten attempts to kill both Shippo and Kagome who are trying to kill him as well. Seeing this, Inuyasha kills Monten by throwing the Tetsusaiga into Monten's chest. Angry with this, Hiten bites into Monten's head to take the Shikone shards in his forehead. Hiten and Inuyasha continue battle as Inuyasha no longer has the Tetsusaiga. When Kagome and Shippo attempt to get the Tetsusaiga for Inuyasha, Hiten fires a blast of lightning from his mouth at the two. Inuyasha becomes enraged and begins to be aggressive in battle, but can't hold his defense on Hiten. Just as he is about to be killed, the Tetsusaiga is thrown towards Inuyasha. He then proceeds to kill Hiten with the sword. Afterward, Inuyasha encounters Kagome and Shippo thinking that they are ghosts. Myouga explains to Inu that their souls have come to say their final goodbye to him before crossing over to the spirit world. When the blue flame shoots upward, Inu thinks they are leaving, and runs over to them, crying “Wait! Don’t leave me!” He grabs Kagome’s wrist and hangs on. He watches the blue flame disappear into the sky and calls Kagome’s name. Only then does he realize that he’s still holding her wrist! It turns out that the fur from Shippo's father created a Fox Fire barrier that protected the two from Hiten's attack. As the group goes off together, Inu is still steamed for having revealed his feelings to Kagome.

12. "Soul Piper and the Mischievous Little Soul"
Initially Kagome is in school, but the important things happen when she's walking to some unremembered place with her friends and they stop at a park. Children and their mothers are playing with fireworks, and Kagome spots a little girl about to light another one in a somewhat dangerous way. The girl, Mayu I believe, lights the twirling firework which is then sped on it's way toward the mothers and children. Mayu runs off laughing, and Kagome runs after her saying that was not such a nice thing to do. Mayu is shocked that Kagome can see her, and there is a brief reinactment of the flames that consumed Mayu's bodies in life. Mayu disappears and Kagome is left on her knees where her friends find her and ask what's wrong. She brushes it off, goes home, and then we see the next main event. Kagome is told to accompany Souta to visit his comatose friend in the hospital, and on the way Souta chats with her a bit about what happened to his friend and those that visited the friend. At the hospital, Kagome meets the mother of the comatose boy and sees Mayu under the hospital bed. Mayu pulls at the IV's and sends things flying and shattering. Mayu's mother says this has happened many times before. Kagome leaves with Souta, who goes into detail concerning the terrible happenings around the comatose boy, and Kagome asks to see the apartment in which his older sibling, Mayu, perished. Once there, a helpful Mayu drops a pot on the siblings, jumps off the high balcony, proclaims her wish for vengence, sends vegitation flying, and annoys 'Tata'. Kagome returns to the past to ask for Myouga's helpful information, is told by Inuyasha that ghosts are completely different than youkai, and is greeted by the sight of Kagome having left half-way through his speech. Kagome plans on returning to the hospital, and catches the mother on her way out. Something goes wrong in the comatose boy's room, and they rush back up through the hospital. They enter the room to find Mayu in the room, and everything gets worse. She slams her mother to the hallway wall without touching her, proclaims once more her incredible hatred of both parent and sibling, and then rocks Kagome's world and forces the hospital bed to spill out the window she had earlier broken. Kagome at first believe's the comatose boy to be a goner, but Inuyasha had apparated to save the boy and was hanging from the newly reformed Tetsusaiga's sheath that was dug into the outer walls of the hospital building. He and Kagome set off to chase down Mayu as she is dragged back to the site of her death by 'Tata', and he warns her that he knows nothing of handling ghosts. They arrive at the burned out apartment, and Kagome is still on Inuyasha's back as they enter. Kagome disappears from Inuyasha's back because the hell Mayu is being dragged into is one meant only for humans. As Inuyasha was not currently in a human state, or perhaps merely because he is hanou and thusly half youkai, Kagome was the only one of the pair allowed access. She then finds the little girl, who proclaims her hatred for her mother and the desire for her brother's death or something of the like for the umpteenth time, and is promptly wrapped in chains and dragged into a crevice to hell. Kagome prevents her from being dragged into the depths by grabbing onto the young child's arms and telling her that this wasn't what she really wanted except in much different context. Mayu eventually starts crying after asking Kagome if her mother was mad at her. So sad, but the little girl is able to let go of her fear/hatred and the chains dragging her to hell break. Kagome pulls her up, and then we cut to the next day when the little girl's mother visits the apartment and sees the child. They more or less make up, and then the little girl goes off playing with 'Tata'. She pays Kagome a visit in the kimono her mother had made for her before, well, going away. Inuyasha more or less commends her on how she handled the situation.

13. "Mystery of the New Moon and the Black Haired Inuyasha"
This is THE sweetest episode! It starts out with the school bell ringing, and then Kagome getting her backpack off her desk. Her friends yell at her, saying she is on cleaning duty also. She promises them she will make it up to them, and then runs for the door. She runs into Hojo, who asks her on a date. Her friends grab her into a huddle and make her say yes. He tells her he will pick her up at half past 6, and she remembers the past. Then, she's standing next to Inu at the well and asks him if they could be back by Saturday, and he says the chances are fair to moderate if they are lucky. He then asks her what a Saturday was, and she sighs.(lol) Now Inu, Kagome, and Shippo are in a boat. Shippo is seasick, which makes InuYasha mad, and he tells him to act like a demon. InuYasha also tells Kagome to stop goofing off, and she salutes him. They soon see spider webs, and InuYasha grabs some with his hand and looks at it. A girl is falling, and InuYasha jumps from the boat and grabs her. She tells him thanks, but then sees his doggie ears. She screams, and tells him to unhand her.(lol) They both fall into water, and now Inu is really ticked. Nazuna (sp?) tells them that there are Spider heads that roam the mountains, and they attack villages. Kagome seems a little freaked, and asks Inuyasha if they could go after them. He replies if they don't have a shard, no. InuYasha ends up carrying Nazuna to her Priest guy, and he asks her if the spider heads got her. She tells him no, that she had to rely on these demons. InuYasha turns his head. The priest, or her "master" asks them to stay the night. InuYasha is a little reluctant, but agrees. They are soon eating dinner, which Shippo enjoys. InuYasha is staring outside, and Kagome comes up to him, wondering what's the matter. She tells him she knows what's wrong, and he gets a funny face. "You`re afraid of spiders!" She yells. Shippo comes up and turns into a spider, and says "Woah who's afraid of the big bad spider?" and InuYasha crushes him to the ground. (its sooo funny!) InuYasha gets up an walks outside, where he sees spider heads. They come up, and he starts to fight them, but the Tetsiega wont transform. InuYasha gets covered in spider webs, and Kagome drags him off into the forest. There, she pulls the webs off, and discovers he has black hair. Shippo jumps on him, looking for his ears. Myoga tells Kagome that every half demon has a time where they lose their powers. Myoga asks Inu why he didn't tell them, and Inu says they would have left him. (awww) Kagome says what about me, and he yells at her and tells her he cant trust anyone, and its not her its just the way he lives. Kagome starts crying, and says, "So much for being able to lean on close friends." InuYasha tells her to stop crying, insults him, and they start arguing. Nazuna shows up, saying that her master has been taken. Kagome remembers that she left her backpack there, and InuYasha tells her to get another one when she goes home. She tells him the jewel shards are in there, and he screams. He gives her the Tetsiega and tells her to stay there with Nazuna. He grabs Shippo and heads back to the masters place. Back there, the master has turned into a half spider thing, and is going through Kagome`s backpack. He finds the jewel shards, but an arrow hits the glass and they go everywhere. Shippo grabs some, but the master gets more. He shoots web everywhere, and InuYasha is stuck to a pole thing. Kagome and Nazuna show up, and Nazuna is shocked. The master bits InuYasha, infecting him with poison. Kagome starts climbing the web, and cries. InuYasha tells her to save herself, and she says no way. He sees her tears, and then she grabs him, and falls to the ground. They run into another room, and jam the Tetsusaiga into the door. Myoga runs up to InuYasha and sucks the poison out. Everyone is asleep except Kagome and InuYasha. InuYasha wakes up when Kagome wipes his face. He turns to her and asks her why she was crying. She tells him she thought she was going to lose him. He replies, "you shed tears for me..." he then asks her if he could lay in her lap. She looks surprised, but says yes. He then tells her she smells good, and Kagome is confused. She tells him he told her that he hated her smell. InuYasha agrees, but he tells her he lied. She looks freaked, but he is asleep. Next thing, the big spider master is attacking the house. She grabs Shippo and turns into this huge spider. Nazuna gets mad and starts hitting him. He grabs her, and calls her a fool. Then we hear InuYasha say that she is strong, for a human. Spider master guy grabs InuYasha, and tells him he will eat him. InuYasha starts to transform back, (which is really cool) and attacks the spider guy and kills him. InuYasha, Kagome and Shippo are back at their boat, and are telling Nazuna bye. She tells InuYasha that not all demons are bad, and he says all demons are bad. She tells him he will be in her prayers, and he says whatever. Kagome stares at him, and starts to wonder if he meant what he said. InuYasha turned around, and told her she was ticking him off. She half rolls her eyes, and Shippo once again, is seasick. It shows the sky, and you hear Shippo throw up on InuYasha and Inu screams really loudly.

14. "Kikyo's Stolen Ashes"
The demon Urasue is trying to steal Kikyo's ashes from her gravesite. Kaede and the village men are trying to stop her. Urasue attacks them and injures Kaede. She is rendered powerless. Urasue takes off with the urn of Kikyo's ashes. Meanwhile, InuYasha is dreaming about the night Kikyo betrayed him. For a moment, he thinks it is Kagome. He wakes up in a slight frenzy. He jumps out of his tree and sits by Kagome, staring at her face. She wakes up and slaps him in the face. He gets disgruntled and starts shouting that she is nothing like Kikyo. Then, they see the demon Urasue flying past the moon. InuYasha smells blood. The next morning they rush back to the village. They find Kaede bandaged up. InuYasha, Kagome and Kaede climb the stairs to Kikyo's gravesite. Kaede tells them what happened. When she tries to talk InuYasha into helping her get the ashes back, he refuses and grunts about how he was betrayed. He then realizes that Urasue also took soil from the grave site. Kagome tries to talk him into it and when he doesn't answer her she rants about how he can't look her in the eyes because she looks like Kikyo. He says, no and grabs her hand. Slowly, he leans in as if to kiss her. Kagome spazzes out and pushes him away. Startled, she sits, shaking. He gets up and starts screaming about the violence. Kaede comes up to them with a horse and tells them that she's going to get her sister's ashes back herself. InuYasha finally accepts to help her. Kagome notices that when InuYasha almost kissed her, he wasn't looking at her, he was looking through her to Kikyo. As InuYasha, Kaede, Shippo and Kagome are heading to Urasue's lair, she realizes that InuYasha was in love with Kikyo. She has a revelation and thinks that Kikyo didn't love him back. InuYasha gets the creeps and asks Kagome why she keeps staring at him. The four go through a forest filled with clay sculptures and none of them know what they are. They reach a bridge crossing a ravine and as they cross, Shippo sees clay sculptures on the bridge that weren't there before. They crack open to reveal soldiers. InuYasha fights them off to discover that they are hollow and made of clay. Meanwhile, Urasue has opened another clay sculpture to reveal the body of Kikyo. She raises her out of the clay and sets her on her feet. The body falls to the ground. Angry, Urasue realizes that Kikyo's sould isn't in the body. She hears the racket outside and decides to go look. Urasue reaches for a olive branch Kikyo is holding, but Kikyo won't let go. Then, the body moves on its own. Urasue realizes that her soul is near. She looks out the cave and sees Kagome, Kikyo's near twin. In a frenzy, Urasue flies out of the lair and slices the bridge in half, leaving InuYasha, Shippo, and Kaede to fall to their deaths. She grabs Kagome and heads back to her lair.

15. "Return of the Tragic Priestess, Kikyo"
InuYasha hits the bottom of the ravine from which he fell in the previous episode. Kaede and Shippo land on top of him sitting of a giant leaf. The clay soldiers, having survived the fall attack InuYasha. He then is told by Shippo that Kagome has been kidnapped. Kaede observes that Urasue has imprisoned human souls to make the soldiers move. Also, bones are baked into the clay of the soldiers. She makes the point that Kikyo could be alive soon. Urasue is pouring a yellow fluid into a basin in which Kagome is tied. Kikyo comes out of Urasue's lair dressed in preistess garb. Startled, Kagome askes who she is. Then, Urasue explains that soon, Kikyo will have her soul back and Kagome will be living dead. She starts to cramp up and Urasue sees that Kagome has a fragment of the jewel. The soul comes to life and creates an orb around Kagome. Urasue says that the soul looks angry, as if it had experienced betrayal in a former life. InuYasha comes running and Kikyo's body straightens up. He stops straight, startled at seeing Kikyo's body. The soul pleads not to call out Kikyo's name, but InuYasha cannot hear it. He whisper's her name. Kagome's heart skips a beat and Kikyo's sould emerges. Frightened for Kagome, InuYasha yells out her name. Kikyo's body wakes up. Urasue orders her to do her bidding but Kikyo approaches Urasue and burns her to a crisp. Then, Kikyo asks InuYasha why he is still alive. Both of them are ticked. A wound in Kikyo's shoulder opens up and blood spills out. Kikyo asks InuYasha why HE betrayed HER. InuYasha is puzzled. Kaede says that InuYasha didn't. He refuses, saying that there must be a mistake. Kikyo has a flash back to when "InuYasha" attacked her and took the jewel. Kikyo approaches InuYasha as if to embrace him, but instead uses her powers to hurt him. Kaede tries to stop her, but Kikyo doesn't know who she is. Kaede explains that 50 years have passed. Kikyo takes away Kaede's bow and arrow and shoots at InuYasha. When she misses, she grabs the rest of Kaede's arrows. When she shoots again, Kagome begins to call back her soul. The arrow begins to pierce InuYasha's chest, but most of the soul is back in Kagome's body and the arrow disappears. InuYasha looks around for Kikyo and sees her running away. In her haste, she falls off a cliff, but InuYasha gets there in time to grab Kikyo's wrist. Kikyo tries to drag both herself and InuYasha off the cliff by using her powers to hurt InuYasha. They both fall, but InuYasha grabs onto a rock on the cliff. The sudden stop of momentum makes InuYasha's grasp on Kikyo slip and she falls to her "doom". InuYasha has a flash back to the day of the betrayal and how Kikyo shot arrows at him before he ran and got the jewel from the temple. Then he collapses.

16. "Mystical Hand of the Amorous Monk, Miroku"
The episode begins with Kagome and Shippo talking near a pond. A concered Shippo is asking Kagome if she still feels fine after her soul returned to her body. Both are concered because InuYasha has been staring off into space since his run-in with Kikyo. He wonders what he's going to do with the jewel now that some of his feelings have changed. In an effort to end InuYasha's day dreaming, Shippo leaps out of Kagome's arms and kicks InuYasha in the head. A disgruntled InuYasha grabs Shippo by the tail and asks him why he did it. After a wise crack, InuYasha tries to attack Shippo and they run around. Scene change to Miroku the monk on a trail. He drops his staff and it falls to the right. Two men walk by speaking of a beautiful waitress at a rest stop on the right. Being the lecher that he is, he uses his foot to make the staff face right. Once at the stop, he regrets to find an unattractive girl. He overhears two men speaking of a possessed girl in need of a skilled preist. He figures he's the best cantidate. Once there, he does his job and exorcises a weasel demon from an idol in the princess's room. He gains a shard of the jewel in defeating the demon. When the lord of the mansion returns, he finds that Miroku has stolen all of his valuables. Later, Miroku is bathing and he sees Kagome entering the water. (Very funny scene with InuYasha and Shippo here.) He sees the stone hanging from her neck and tries to snatch it. She sees something (Miroku) and screams. InuYasha comes running. InuYasha, Kagome and Shippo are taking a mountian trail when a hired badger attacks InuYasha. Miroku grabs Kagome and starts riding off with her. InuYasha sees her being kidnapped and gives the badger a good punch. He surrenders. Miroku sees that the badger has given up and he takes prayer beads off revealing a vortex in his hand. Prayer beads back on and Kagome runs to InuYasha. Miroku rides off on Kagome's bike with Kagome's jewel shard. Furious, InuYasha runs into the nearest town and sniffs around for Miroku. Kagome is near giving up when she sees her bike outside of a building. They run in to find him in a room surrounded by some unattractive ladies. Miroku flirts with Kagome before InuYasha tries to rip his head off. They jump out the window and run through the town. InuYasha realizes that Miroku is more than ordinary when he can block the Tetsusaiga. After a good fight, Miroku slips on some wood and falls, InuYasha takes the opprotunity to knock his staff from his hands. Miroku runs away, warning the villagers to escape while they can. Once outside of the village, Miroku takes the prayer beads off and releases the wind tunnel. In a desperate attempt to avoid getting sucked in, InuYasha plunges the Tetsusaiga into the ground. Kagome realizes that Miroku doesn't want to suck humans into the void, so she lets herself get sucked to Miroku, he throws the beads back on and avoids sucking her in just in time. When he wakes up, he does some groping of Kagome and InuYasha gets ticked. Then Miroku tells them his story. He explains that Naraku cursed his grandfather and that the hole in passed down through their family until Naraku is killed. Eventually, Miroku will get sucked into the hole himself. He tells them that Naraku was once close to the gem 50 years ago and killed the preistess guarding it. InuYasha realizes that Naraku was the demon that tricked him and Kikyo. He then vows to kill Naraku.Miroku asks Kagome to bear him a son and InuYasha gets really protective. Miroku teases InuYasha about being in love with Kagome. He denies it and Kagome makes a crack about InuYasha loving dead girls. Then, he taunts him by saying she'll go searching for shards with Miroku. Some more funny stuff and some groping and then it's over.

17. "Cursed Ink of the Hell-Painter"
It starts out with a man running through a field at night. He is carrying something and is being chased by men on horseback, who indicate that he has a fragment of the Shikon jewel. He looks to be carrying some scrolls in his arms, and he grabs one of them, which suddenly changes colour, and suddenly the men are set upon by a host of demons. They kill all the men. One of the men asks for help from the man with the scrolls (who is rather ugly), but he offers no aid. He says that the demons are indeed thirsty for blood and will drink until they get their fill. He then holds up a cannister which appears to hold a shard of the Shikon jewel in the bottom of it. The next day, Inu & Co. are at the site of the battlefield. Kagome is not surprised that they’ve come upon yet another field of bodies, seeing as they’re in a warring era, but Inu then says that this was no battle, and that something is not right, because he can’t pick up the smell of blood. Miroku believes it to be the work of a very strong demon, and that the demon must possess a shard of the Shikon jewel. Inu then turns to Miroku and says that he has no intention of teaming up with him. Miroku asks Inu if he means that it’s “every man for himself”. Miroku decides to leave the group, thinking that it’s better to compete with Inu from afar. Kagome asks Inu if he really wants Miroku to leave. She gets no answer, and turns to find that Inu isn’t beside them anymore.Kagome hears a voice yelling “Help! A demon!”. Uh oh! We see that Inu has waylaid a traveller and is sniffing some kind of scroll that the traveller was carrying. Kagome pedals up on her bike with Shippo and yells “sit boy!”. Inu falls to the ground, releasing the man and the scroll letter. The man grabs his letter and takes off. Inu asks Kagome why she did that, and Kagome repliies “Because you were pestering the poor guy.” She asks Inu why he was picking on the guy, and Inu says that he was giving off the same smell of ink that he smelled on the battlefied. If he can track down the source, they might find the demon. Inu apparently wants to find the jewel shard before Miroku does. Kagome asks Inu what he has against Miroku anyway, and then Inu asks Kagome if she actually likes that “lecher”. Kagome says yes, which surprises Inu. Kagome says it was just a joke, but Inu isn't paying attention. He wonders what Kagome could possibly see in Miroku. Shippo calls Inu an idiot. Meanwhile, in a nearby town, the ugly little man from the battlefied gains an audience with the town’s Lord, who is surprised that the man defeated an entire army by himself. He offers to let the man join his military forces. A guard then enters and says he needs to speak to the Lord. Next thing we know, the ugly man is being thrown out of the mansion by two guards. They say that his claims of power are unfounded and that he’s simply a wandering artist from the capital. The man begs to speak to the Lord again, but the two guards call him a liar and start beating him up. The Princess of the mansion walks by and tells the guards to go easy on the man. They apologize, saying that they didn’t see her there. She continues on her way, and the two guards wrap the painter up in an old carpet and throw him over a bridge into the water. He floats downriver. At dusk, we see that the painter has freed himself, and vows to defeat anyone who stands in his way.His delusions of grandeur include building his own castle, being surrounded in riches, and marrying a Princess, like the one that he saw earlier. He thinks there is nothing he cannot do! Suddenly Inu grabs him from behind, and asks him (somewhat politely) if he will answer a few questions. Not far behind, Kagome is pedalling towards them on her bike, saying that Inu is picking on another guy. Shippo says “Six innocent peasants down, hundreds of thousands to go”. (this was a great line!)The painter asks Inu who he is, and at first claims to be powerful, then says he is only a simple artist. Inu is annoyed and asks the painter why he smells like ink and fresh blood. The painter starts squirming, wriggles free and runs a few feet away, then turns back toward Inu and throws out another one of his scrolls. As it unrolls from his hand, a large picture of a monster is revealed, and the giant monster comes to life! Kagome wonders what it is, and Shippo says that it’s a demon. Meanwhile, the painter runs away down the hill and gets into a boat. Inu yells at him to come back, but he paddles away frantically.Kagome wonders if the painter is a demon, but then says she’s sure that he’s a human. The real demon attacks Inu again. Inu draws the Tetsusaiga and cuts the demon in half. The demon explodes into a waterfall of ink! It pours over Inu and knocks him to the ground. He remarks that the goop is a mixture of blood and ink, and then he is suddenly rendered incapacitated (seems to pass out). Kagome runs over and tries to help him up, telling him to get a hold of himself, but he can’t answer. Shippo says that Inu’s nose is so sensitive, the mixture of blood and ink got to him.The painter wonders what type of beast Inu was, and how he could smell the blood and ink so clearly. The painter says that it’s Inu who should be afraid though, because the painter has a battalion of demons at his beckon call. Back in the town, Miroku tells the guards at the gate to the mansion that there is an evil shadow hanging over the mansion, and that he can drive it out in a single night. The guards don’t believe him, nd send him away. Miroku sighs and gives up, saying that he’ll have to sleep outside tonight, then turns to leave. As he does, a black shadow passes overhead and he looks up to see a huge black cloud descending upon the mansion. He tries to warn the guards of the “evil shadow”. They are still scoffing him until they turn around and see the cloud for themselves! The black cloud descends on the two guards, and two demons emerge from it to destroy them. Miroku notes that the two demons are the bull demon and the dragon demon, which he has only ever seen in “paintings of hell”. Miroku hears screams from inside the mansion, and someone yelling “Rescue the Princess!”. Miroku runs into the mansion (gladly!).We see doors opening up one after the other, and the voice of the painter calling “Princess... Princess...” (this is a dream sequence). We then see that the painter is actually asleep in his hut, and is surrounded by drawings of demons. He is having a nightmare in which he reaches the room where the Princess is, but when she turns around, she looks strange, and her eyes start glowing red. She tells him that she wants his blood, then reaches to grab his throat with one hand and his wrist with the other. His wrist is surrounded by a black wind, and his hand shrinks. He yells at her to release him. In the real world, Miroku barges into the Princess’ room and moves to stand in front of her. The two demons break through the far wall and Miroku prepares to battle them. Just before they reach him, we hear the voice of the painter yelling “Stop this!”. The demons halt, and then the black cloud retreats out of the mansion. Miroku wonders what happened. The painter wakes up from his nightmare in a panick. The black ink comes down like a rain and then zooms into his hut, returning itself to the cannister in which he keeps it. The painter remarks that the black ink must have sprung into action on its own accord while he was sleeping. Back at the mansion, the Lord thanks Miroku for saving his daugher, and asks him to forgive the guards for their earlier rudeness. Miroku says that thanks aren’t needed and that he bears no grudge against the guards, but says the danger has yet to pass. He indicates that the demons may atack again, and that the Princess would be safer if she stayed with him; in the same room, in the same bed! From outside, we hear Inu’s voice saying “He’s at it again! And I suppose you’ll need to search her robes while you’re at it too, you pervert?” [that was so funny!] Inu & Co. appear in the large outside doorway, but they just missed all the fun. Outside, Kagome fills Miroku in on the painter and his evil ink drawings. He believes that for a human to have such power, he must have a jewel shard, and Kagome agrees. Miroku then wonders how they can stop an artist who has the power to bring his demons to life.Shippo, who is sitting on Inu’s lap having a snack, asks Inu why he’s just sitting there, instead of helping with a plan. Kagome asks Inu if he’s still sulking, and Miroku asks Inu if there’s something wrong. Inu tells them to leave him alone. Kagome gets annoyed and tells Inu to “get over it” and work with Miroku just this once. Kagome then says that Inu is jealous! Inu denies it, but when he turns around, Miroku is holding Kagome’s hands again, saying that her faith in him is strong and that she can sense his pure intentions. She removes his hands and then says sure, but that she can also see that he has some jewel shards. She says she can see two... no, more like three, and they start to glow inside Miroku’s right shoulder. He is pleasantly surprised that she has the power to see them. Inu comes running over, but Kagome yells “sit!” Inu falls flat on his face, then tells Kagome to stop doing that. Miroku leans over and tells Inu that he collected the jewel shards on his own, and if Inu takes them, that would make him a thief. Inu sarcastically thanks him for “spelling it out”, then gets to his feet, saying that he remembers when a certain “thief” stole Kagome’s shards from her. Some guards outside the door overhear Inu & Co. talking, and report the situation to their Lord. He says that he’s heard rumours about the jewel’s powers, and that possessing a single shard can increase a person’s natural powers at least a hundred times over. One of the guards wonders if they should take the shard from the painter, then the other guard says that Miroku possesses one too. The Lord is intrigued. Later that night, the two guards enter Miroku’s room and attempt to kill him while he sleeps, but he was too smart for that. Miroku easily beats them off. Inu comes running and asks Miroku if he’s alright. Miroku, holding his staff to the mens’ throats, asks them to tell him what’s going on. One of the men says that their Lord ordered them to attack him to get the shard, and that their Lord himself went to get the painter’s shard. Miroku asks the two men where the painter is (they obviously tell him). Miroku then runs outside and grabs Kagome’s bike, asking her if he can “borrow her contraption for a bit”. He begins pedalling away. Kagome and Shippo run after him, telling him to wait up, but they’re both grabbed from behind by Inu, who tosses them onto his back and starts running. He yells to Miroku to keep going and that he’ll catch up. Out in a field near the painter’s hut, the Lord has assembled a barrage of men who start an attack. Inside his hut, the painter unrolls several paintings and calls forth his hellish army. A black cloud full of demons emerges from his hut and begins destroying all of the Lord’s men. They run in fear, and the Lord yells for someone to help him get his horse under control. Inu & Co. reach the battlefield, and Shippo tells Inu that he musn’t slay the demons because their blood will make him pass out again. Inu replies “Just watch”, then draws the Tetsusaiga and begins slaying demons. The Lord tells Inu that he saved him, and says that Inu will be compensated. Some blood then splashes to the ground and spooks his horse, which takes off (with the Lord). The blood splashes onto Inu & Co., and Inu passes out again.Another demon on a horse comes charging toward Kagome & Co., and she calls for Inu. Miroku steps in and destroys the demon, then Inu wakes up as Kagome remarks that Miroku saved them. Miroku then unleashes his wind tunnel, and begins sucking all the demons into it. The painter, looking out his window, sees what’s going on. When all of the demons have been sucked in, Miroku covers his hand again and sinks down onto the ground, groaning in pain. He tells them that he’s never drawn in so many demons before, and that just needs to rest a bit. Inwardly, Inu compalins that he knew they couldn’t count on Miroku. The gound begins to shake, and a huge snake-like demon with three heads emerges from the ground (the painter is sitting on the middle head). Inu pulls the others away from it, then it attacks them. They all duck out of the way. When the snake comes around again, Inu asks Kagome if she can tell him where the jewel shard is. She looks and tells him that it’s in the bamboo ink pot on the painter’s waist. Inu says he’s all over it and then jumps up onto the back of the snake as it passes. The painter sees him and turns around. Annoyed, he unleashes another painting with demons of death on it. Inu easily beats off the five or so demons that attack him. Miroku is impressed and wonders what the technique is called that Inu is using and Kagome replies “It’s called wailing on them” (that was hilarious!). Inu tells the painter that to hand over the jewel before Inu gets really upset. Two of the snake’s heads then shoot fire at Inu and he is surrounded by it. Inu falls down a ways on the snake’s back, but manages to hang on. He breaks free from the fire using the Tetsusaiga, but the painter refuses to give up the jewel, because it’s his last chance at happiness. Inu flies up and uses the Tetsusaiga to slice the ink pot from the painter’s waist, then cuts the ink pot in half. The ink spills out and the three-headed snake disappears. The painter goes tumbling to the ground and hits a tree, then gets up and freaks out because his ink has been spilled. He grabs a sword and uses it to slash hiw own wrist (eww!). He then tells the ink to use his blood, hoping that it will come to life in doing so. All the ink that is floating in the air zooms toward the painter, but instead of fusing with his blood, the ink devours it he starts to shrivel up. The painter calls out for help, but Inu can only watch helplessly. After a few seconds, the ink finishes the painter off and then falls all over the ground. Kagome, Shippo and Miroku run up behind Inu, and Inu once again calls the painter a fool, saying that the ink devoured him. Kagome thinks it was a terrible way to end, and Inu agrees, saying that the painter’s ambition must have turned the ink into a parasite. Because he would rather have the ink suck his blood dry than give over the jewel fragment, he paid for it with his life. The jewel shard appears in the middle of the ink, but Miroku tells won’t touch it, fearing it is evil. Kagome picks it up instead, and Miroku is suprised. Kagome asks who wants it, and Inu says that it’s obviously his. Kagome says that Miroku did his share of work too, but Miroku then tells Kagome to keep it. Kagome agrees, and Shippo jumps onto Inu’s head, saying “Good thing someone’s grown up”. Yeah Shippo! Inu turns away grumpily, while Miroku inwardly marvels that Kagome purified the evil shard simply by picking it up. Next morning, the gang is travelling down the road, and Kagome asks if Miroku is really going to come with them (I guess he decided to). Miroku says yes, and that travelling in the company of a pretty woman is much more enjoyable. Kagome giggles at his comment but Inu just huffs and puffs. Miroku then says that despite Inu’s appearance, he’s not such a bad guy. Inu looks back at them but says nothing. Kagome then remembers (flashback) that Inu could have killed the painter with one blow, but chose instead to spare him and aim only for the ink pot. She figures that Inu’s alright as a person, he just doesn’t know it yet. She thinks that one day, when the time is right, she’ll tell him so.

18. "The Alliance of Naraku and Sesshoumaru"
It starts out with Sesshomaru trying out his new arm on some thieves. Jaken praises it, but it's already useless. So then Naraku shows up. Naraku gives Sesshomaru a human arm with a Shikon shard embedded inside it, allowing Sesshomaru to wield the Tetsusaiga. He goes after Inuyasha and the others and manages to take the sword from Inuyasha. He demonstrates the sword's power by wiping out a bunch of minor demons with the Kaze no Kizu. Miroku tries to use his Air Void on a giant demon Jaken is riding on, but is attacked by Naraku’s gift to Sess, his poison insects. The shadow beast, who was almost sucked into the wind tunnel, falls foward onto the ground and Jaken goes flying. The insects zoom in for another attack, and Inu uses his iron reaver soul stealer attack to shred them. Kagome asks Miroku if he is alright. He says that the insects have poisoned him with their venom. Kagome tells Miroku not to move, and that she’s going to look for an antidote. As she runs back toward the tavern, she yells to Inu to watch Miroku. Sess tells Inu that if he thinks he can kill him, prove it. Sess then takes a sideswipe at Inu, forcing Inu to jump backward into the air. When he lands, Sess renews his attack, and after several hits, he knocks the sheath from Inu’s hand. Now weaponless, Inu is at the pointy end of the Tetsusaiga, and Sess tells Inu that with one more strike, it will be over. They regard each other for a single moment, Sess with an expression of confidence, Inu with complete anger. Sess raises the Tetsusaiga up for the final blow.Suddenly, an arrow strikes the tip of the Tetsusaiga. Then another one strikes on the blade. Everyone watches in awe as the Tetsusaiga’s glow goes out and it transforms back into its steel form. Inu can’t believe it. As one of the arrows lands in the ground behind them, they hear Kagome’s voice calling Sess’ name. They turn to see her standing up on the crest of a hill near the tavern, and she’s got another arrow knocked on her bow. She tells Sess to drop the sword, or the next arrow will pierce his heart. Inu calls her name, and as she draws the arrow back more, she shouts to him to get out of there quickly. Inwardly, Sess can’t believe that this girl’s arrow cancelled the Tetsusaiga’s transformation. As everyone looks at her with awe-struck expressions, Kagome stands ready to loose her next arrow. But Sess headed an attack right at Kagome. Inuyasha rushed toward her right as the rock blew up. Inuyasha grabbed her and rushed her too a safe area. Kagome was unconscious but Inuyasha thought she was dead. He shut his eyes in anger and returned too the fight with the retrieved Tetsusaiga at hand. Sess attacks him in the stomach. He is forced to plunge the sword in the ground, and amazingly it created a powerful magical energy crackling all around. Suddenly, Kagome woke up and shouted out Inuyasha’s name. Inuyasha said thank goodness and fell too the ground. Sess had already run off. Kagome was somewhat relieved until she saw his terrible injury.
